Challenged… & the prize is a snippet

Hey guys!

How are you?  It feels like ages since we spoke but I am still here. I’ve actually been in Techno Hell – it’s a real place and it’s wickedly cruel. I survived but remind me to tell you the The Saga of Email Torture….it’s a wonder I’m still sane.  But that’s for the next post! Right now……

So I was nominated by an author friend  (hi Rita!! Check out Rita Kruger, Author – https://www.facebook.com/rita.kruger.9469)  to post 7/8 lines from my current work in progress…so heres what I’m doing lately….a sequel to my debut novel, Fractured. Ta Da! But you knew that didn’t you?. Truthfully, I know it’s more than 7/8 lines but I either have long long sentences or itty bitty ones….so we’ll join up the itty ones and call it square.

If you haven’t read my novel yet….watcha waiting for? I highly recommend it. Lol. 😊😊😊😊

Moments that felt like hours passed as Charlotte’s  eyes, wide with trepidation, stared into my gold beast ones, the heat in them undeniable as my body trembled.

We were in a precarious situation – I was on a very fine edge, right in the middle of a bar, maybe not so crowded but still with way too many people – potentially disastrous if I couldn’t reign it in.

I needed her.

And she knew it. I could see it in her eyes.

She suddenly grabbed my hand and turned to walk to the bartender who was back behind the bar – dragging me, in fact, as I realised where she was headed.

What the hell was she doing???

Horrified, I wanted to yell at her that she was crazy to risk me being anywhere near him or anyone else. We needed to get outta here. Didn’t she understand that?? How the hell could she not understand that?? Oh fuck….this wasn’t good……

My hand shook within hers, loving the softness of her skin, the delicacy of her small fingers but clutching tight to her in fear.

But then…..

“Derek, you have a quiet space I could talk to my…..partner….in private?,” she called out to the guy and I could have howled. My beast was shaking hard.
